Cauliflower Bites
Crispy, flavorful party-snack
Fridays are probably the most favorite day of the week for most people around the world.
You know what I mean ? Even after a long and ordinary week of work, I wonder how this day manages to gather all my energy, as if the week had just begun.
I always talk about a laid-back weekend, snuggling around the entire day on my bed, eating amazing food and binge watching, but as is the case, I wind up spending a lot of time in the kitchen trying to make the 'eating-amazing-food' part come true. I don't know about everyone else but weekend is certainly the time I like to unleash the chef in me!

It is again Friday...er.. more like 'Fry-Day'! I have to admit that as much as I encourage and follow healthy eating habits, I am a fan of fried food.
Well, you know I like to believe that food alone doesn't guarantee a 100 years of healthy living. The point is I really like fried snacks and I am sharing a recipe of crispy cauliflower bites. They also make great party-snacks.
I am telling you, they will become your favorite crispy bites of flavor and magic and guess what, because of its texture, cauliflower-haters won't even know it is cauliflower until you tell them.

Like most of my recipes, they are easy to make and the perfect snack to enjoy on a movie night, any day of the week.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups cauliflower, finely grated
- 2 tablespoons corn flour or corn starch
- 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste, alternatively add grated ginger and garlic
- 1 teaspoon chili powder or pepper powder
- salt to taste
- oil, to fry
- water
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the grated cauliflower, corn starch, flour, ginger-garlic paste, chili powder and salt. Use your hands to mash the cauliflower combine the ingredients thoroughly. Squeeze out the juice of the cauliflower to make a dough.
2. Sprinkle extra water if needed. It should be easy to form small balls with the dough without falling the ingredients apart. Be careful no to make it too sticky or runny.
3. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan and maintain the heat in medium. High heat will only result in under-cooked balls.
4. Drop the balls into the oil and deep fry until a desired browning is achieved. Remove and place on tissue papers to absorb excess oil.
5. Serve hot with a favorite condiment or sauce!
Happy Eating! :-)
