Celery Juice - the 5-minute elixir
Celery Juice
Today I wanted to post a very simple, hardly-a-recipe recipe of the much hyped 'Celery Juice'.
I am not going to write an essay about the benefits of celery juice because there is absolutely not dearth of this information on Google. For starters, I have had some gastrointestinal problems for the past couple of years and no amount of monitoring my food habits seems to alleviate it completely. I came across this potion a while ago and after 2 or 3 times of consuming it, I did notice reduced inflammation and bloating.

Whole celery is a source of Flavonoids, vitamin K and C, Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium. It's high-water content is however, what I find most favorable.
I would not call it a miracle-healing potion. It might or might not work for all. What I can promise, is that any vegetable or fruit juice, as a matter of fact does good to our bodies and with so much debate about celery, why not try it out yourself to find out! I made the recipe with lemon to balance out the bland taste of pure celery. You can of course choose to skip it.

I wouldn't call this a beverage but definitely a healthy and hydrating drink for summers. Plus, it only takes 5 minutes to make!
THE RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch celery, roughly chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
Instructions:
1. Add the chopped celery to a blender with water and blend. Add more water if necessary.
2. Strain the juice out using a strainer. You can reuse the leftover pulp for broth.
3. Add in the lemon juice and salt for taste. Serve cold.
